Haunted Hallways
Welcome to the Winchester Mystery House, where the ghosts of the past still haunt the halls. Let’s dig into the stories of the spirits that reside here.
Ghosts of the Past
First, let’s meet Sarah Winchester, the former owner of the mansion. Mrs. Winchester was a grieving widow who lost both her husband and child, and she believed that the spirits of those who had died from the Winchester rifle were haunting her. In order to appease these ghosts, she built a never-ending house, constantly adding rooms and hallways to confuse and distract them. Mrs. Winchester can often be seen wandering the halls, still trying to escape the ghosts of the past.
The Project in the Basement

Swimming Pool Drowning
There is also the ghost of a young girl who drowned in the swimming pool. It is said that her spirit can still be heard laughing and playing near the pool as if she’s still enjoying herself even in death.
The Bedroom Ghost
One of the more ominous spirits is that of a man who was murdered in one of the bedrooms. His ghost is said to haunt the room where he was killed, and visitors have reported feeling a sense of dread and unease when they enter.
Nurse Ghost on Duty
Finally, there is the ghost of a nurse who worked at the mansion. It is said that she still roams the halls, caring for the sick and injured as she did in life.
