Step into the unknown, and prepare to enter another addictive mystery. A place where the boundaries between reality and fantasy are blurred and the impossible becomes a possibility. This is a tale of one such experience, that took place in the heart of Alabama, near the Sepulga River.

As our story begins on the evening of July 23rd, 2016, a car is traveling west along U.S. Highway 84, when suddenly, the driver and passengers are witnesses to a strange figure crossing the bridge in front of them. This figure was like no other they had ever seen, a solid black creature with its knees bent, head and upper body erect. Its movements were quick and fluid, with shaggy arms that seemed to reach toward the sky as it jumped over the railing.

The witnesses were unable to see the creature for much longer, but there were others on the road who may have seen it as well. As they drove away, they couldn’t help but think that they had just witnessed something extraordinary.

But this is not the first time such a strange creature has been reported in this part of Conecuh County. In August of 2004, a witness reported seeing a similar creature near the intersection of U.S. Highway 84 and the Sepulga River. According to their account, a six to seven-foot-tall “black, hairy man-like creature” ran across the road in front of their truck. The creature had a man-like face, very long arms, and a conical-shaped head. It made direct eye contact with the witness and kept running, crashing through the trees as it went.

This latest sighting of a strange creature near the Sepulga River follows recent reports of Bigfoot sightings in Clarke County. The unknown continues to lurk in the shadows, waiting to be discovered.

But what is it that we are afraid of? Is it the unknown, or the fear of our own imaginations? The witness from 2004 reported finding large footprints near the river before seeing the creature. They didn’t think much of it at the time, but once they saw the creature, they knew it had made the prints.
